BigQuery conversational analytics
Ask questions about company data in BigQuery from Claude or any MCP client. Queries run with your own identity: you see exactly the data you are allowed to see, nothing more.
1. Copy the server URL
https://dev.mcp.pnl.sfeir.com/mcp2. Add it to Claude
- In Claude (web or desktop), open Settings → Connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner first adds the connector in the organization settings; members then find it in their own Connectors list.
- Choose Add custom connector, give it a name and paste the URL above. Leave the advanced OAuth fields empty.
- Click Connect and sign in with your Google account.
Or, in Claude Code
Add the server from a terminal, then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose
Authenticate: a browser window opens for sign-in with your Google account.
claude mcp add --transport http bigquery https://dev.mcp.pnl.sfeir.com/mcp3. Ask a question
Enable the connector in a conversation, then try for example:
- Which datasets can I query?
- Describe the tables of the sales dataset.
- What were the top 10 products by revenue last month?
For better answers, your administrator may provide a skill describing the business context of the data.
Good to know
- Read-only: only
SELECTqueries run. - Every query is estimated first; queries scanning more than 10 GiB are refused (filter on dates, select fewer columns).
- Results are capped at 500 rows per query.
- Queries are logged and labeled for cost tracking.
- An “access denied” answer means you lack BigQuery permission on that data: ask the data owner, not the assistant, to change it.
- To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude's settings.
